The obvious research trend of modern lexicography is combined with cognitive science, to make the treatment of corpus more favorable for the learners in the cognition and acquisition of vocabulary. What's more, The theoretical basis of cognitive lexicography and language theory and its coverage of cognitive theory is compatible. On this account, this thesis tries to discuss macro and micro-structure of an English-Chinese learner's dictionary of language and culture from the cognitive perspective.In the perspective of cognition, this thesis starts to review the general information of most of the dictionaries and the comparison between them in the First Chapter. Then, in the Second Chapter, the thesis offers some relevant lexicography theoretical support for lexicography of English-Chinese language and culture learner's dictionary. Chapter Three reports the research of questionnaire about the present status of dictionary use and users' training. Chapter Four tries to propose new ways on the lexicography of English-Chinese language and culture learner's dictionary and put forwards suggestions for the future research. Chapter Five discusses the findings, and draws a conclusion.
