Precedent Phenomenons In Russian Mass Media

In recent years Russian scholars in the field of linguistics and culture pay more and more attention to precedent phenomenons for the reason that as the result of interaction between language and culture, precedent phenomenons can, to some extent, make it easier to understand the ehos and culture of a certain nation. Therefore, precedent phenomenons are considered as an important way of researching linguistic and cultural identity. With further research, scholars are not satisfied with purely structural description, they try to research the origins, the application, the functions and etc. of precedent phenomenons from different perspectives and different disciplines, in other words, they are carrying out comprehensive research of precedent phenomenons.In today’s world the mass media has been called “the forth power” which is independent of legislation, administration and judicature, which plays a significant role in national and people’s lives. In addition to this, the mass media makes great efforts to enhance infectant power, expressive power and interestingness of its words, while the application of precedent phenomenons happens to be a good way for it.Based on the background described in chapter one and two, in this paper we attempt to explore the methods of applicating precedent phenomenons in mass media and their functions in it. In the first chapter we give systematic overview of precedent theory; in the second chapter in order to show the necessities of choosing mass media language as our research materials we introduce major changes of Russian mass media from the Soviet era to the beginning of 21 st century and analyze the main functions of its language; in the third chapter we introduce the methods of applicating precedent phenomenons in the mass media in detail; in the forth chapter we specificly analyze main functions of applicating precedent phenomenons in Russian mass media.The last chapter draws a conclusion of the study.Researching precedent phenomenons from the perspective of the mass media can deepen people’s understanding of precedent phenomenons, while mastering precedent phenomenons helps people accurately understand what the mass media intends to express and get the deeper meaning behind its simple words, which is particularly important for foreign learners; besides, learning precedent phenomenons in Russian mass media can make intercultrual communication between Chinese and Russian people easier.
