Qinhuangdao is known for its natural landscape of both the blue sky and the ocean and the ocean culture is an integral part of its rich history. Except for traveling, tourists want to get to know the city through reading books about the local culture. This books with poetry and rich rhetoric are difficult for Western readers to understand. The quality of its translation not only directly affects the cultural influence of Qinhuangdao, but also impacts on the communication and cooperation among different cultures.This report is based on the C hinese-English translation of Ocean Culture of Qinhuangdao, and the original is an excerpt of Ocean Culture of Qinhuangdao- the Treasures of the Eternal Ocean, which aims to promote the international popularity and expand its influence by introducing the culture of the ocean in Q inhuangdao.The author describes the characteristics of the text, the processes of preparation and translation, and focuses on its typical cases. Through a detailed analysis of the translation process and the typical cases, the author emphasizes three main aspects: how to prepare before translating to ensure that the process goes well, the problems of translation that has encountered and their solutions, and the translation strategies and techniques when translating poetry, names, toponymy, as well as history and culture of the text from the perspective of Intercultural Communication.Meanwhile, because of the constraints of subjective and objective conditions, the translation is not perfect, and how to translate better under the guidance of Intercultural Communication is also a problem that the author need to study.
