A System Research On The Coordinative Conjunctions During The Late Ming And The Early Qing Periods

In late Ming and early Qing dynasties(1598-1715) around the year of one hundred as the research time,in the period of eight works as the research corpus,with the Coordinative Conjunctions as the research object, This article attempts to make a systematic study about the usages and syntax function differences of the Coordinative Conjunctions between late Ming and early Qing.In this paper,we found 72 Coordinative Conjunctions,including 14 Coordinating Conjunctions,14 Continuing Conjunctions,12 Alternative Conjunctions,32 Progressive Conjunctions by adopting the research methods of the combination of quantitative and qualitative.In order to distinguish the conjunction differences in syntactic function,We analyzed the link items of the syntactic location,the quantity,the parts of speech,the language unit.Firstly,The link items of Coordinate Conjunctions can make all kinds of syntactic component, only"qie 1"as a predicate;Most Coordinating Conjunctions can connect substantive components, also can connect predicate components,"lian"can only be connected substantive components, " er1 " and " qie1 " can only be connected predicate components;Most Coordinating Conjunctions connect both, also connect more,"er1"and "qie 1"only connect two;The link items of"jian"can be as a component in a sentence, also can connect clause. "yilai ""yizhe "and"yize"only connect small clause,the rest of the conjunctions only as a component in a sentence.Secondly,Accept"er2"inthe conjunction center position, and the rest is the rear;Sequential Conjunctions are not positioning conjunctions, Vicarious Conjunctions in addition to the " ciwai " are positioning conjunctions;The vast majorities are connected between sentences, only " er2 " is connected in sentences, " er hou " and " ze " both,but the main are connected between sentences;Sequential Conjunctions mainly divided into things and time on the semantic, and Vicarious Conjunctions mainly connect new topics.Thirdly, " huo "and " huo zhe " not only as components in sentences,but also connect sentences,others can only connect sentences;The connections are mostly statement,only " haishi " basically is to answer the question type;Select type conjunction is semantic choice determined, disjunction type conjunction is semantic choice uncertainty;Words in the connection of position are more flexible, there are six conjunctions can be distributed in different positions, " huo " " huoshi” "huozhe""huoshi" can be front and center,"ningke""ning" as well as front and rear.Fourthly, only "erqie"and"qieyou"both as a component in a sentence, also can connect the sentences, and of the composition is mainly refers to the part of speech in a sentence;Most Progressive Conjunctions in behind,"budan""(qie)moshuo/moyaoshuo " " xiushuo " " erqie " " qieyou " Located in multiple locations;Most Progressive Conjunctions in syntactic position is fixed;the connection between Progressive Conjunctions are basically sentences and clauses.
