The Semantic Evolution Path And Motivation Of The Verb "Kai"

"Kai" is a word that commonly used in Chinese. Its form is simple and the meaning is complicated. "Kai" can be used as a verb.In dialects, "Kai" can be used as the modal particle words and the usage. "Kai" can be used as predicate individually,and as complement after the predicate components. "Kai" the semantics of experiencing the process of the blur is different in different syntactic position. At first,the meaning of "Kai" is "open the door", the meaning of "Kai" gradually derived various meanings, such as "displacement", "state", "time", "spatial domain", time domain, the domain in human organs, thoughts, emotions domains, action domain,ability, social domains and so on. In different dialects, many meanings of "Kai" are overlap, others are different.The key problem of this paper is proposed to solve is the semantic relation of "Kai", and explain its semantic shift catalyst from internal and external two aspects.The first chapter is the introduction part. It is review of "Kai", including the research achievements and shortcomings. Secondly also introduced the research and main tools of semantic figure. Then explain the sources of corpus in this paper,.The second chapter is the introduction of all the semantic description of "Kai".On the basis of the eight dialect corpus representative dialect regions, we find the meanings of "Kai" has three categories: action, change class, the class time. Action meaning include the original meaning of "Kai" and other actions of righteousness;State meaning include displacement change and state change.Time meaning include begin, process and result of righteousness.The third chapter explain the evolution path of "Kai",from the angle of diachronic semantic.This paper expounds source of the various meanings of "Kai",production time and the development process.The fourth chapter discuss the reasons of the semantic evolution of "Kai" from two aspects. Syntactic environment, cognitive mechanism and voice are internal reasons.Syntactic environment including syntactic position and collocation; Cognitive mechanism mainly metaphor, metonymy, and highlight.The social environment is the other reason.The fifth chapter is comparative analysis of "Kai" and other eight similar verbs—— "Shang", "Xia", "Jin", "Chu", "Lai", "Qu", "Guo", "Qi".We find similar character.The sixth chapter summarizes the main content of the article and describes the analysis of the problems and prospects of "Kai". This paper mainly based on diachronic analysis, synchronic analysis and comparative analysis of "Kai" has space.
