In recent years, with the continuous development of network technique, the method of people's life style, way of communication and learning also have been changed. In the age of Web2.0, the rise and popularity of the SNS(Social Networking Services)tools not only encourage more and more human beings to contact and interact through SNS but also make the web-based on virtual education develop. The virtual learning community established with SNS tools not only stimulate the cognitive behavior to naturally occur but also the communicative interaction's natures such as immediacy and being lingual.. This paper is a translation practice report based on translating a series of articles from Chinese to English about virtual educational community based on information technology. The source texts written by same author include “Research on the Social Presence Facing to Virtual Educational Community” and “Study of Academic Management and Analysis Method of MOOC Facing to Distance Education in Colleges and Universities”.This paper can be divided into four parts. The first part is a brief introduction to the translation project including background information, main contents and selection reasons. The second part is translation process including preparation before interpretation which includes text analysis, preparation of translation theory and tools and translating stage including comprehension, translation and checking. The third part is the case analysis in the translating process, which includes the translating methods and handling methods to the long and difficult sentences. The forth part is the summary to the translation practice, which includes professional qualities that a translator should have and the problems in the translating process.The key point of this report is to discuss English translation strategy about tech text of virtual learning community. Based on the theory of text analysis of Nord and functional equivalence theory from Eugene Nida, the informational function of source text can be confirmed, which confirms the translation principles of loyalty that the original information should be expressed truthfully and the starting point should be the intended functions of the translation. This paper points out the problems in the translating process and provides a relevant solution and strategy by case analysis.
