Research On The Achievements And Status Of Wen Tong In The History Of Art

As a famous artist of the Song Dynasty,Wen Tong's artistic works and artistic attainments are very representative.This paper is based on the data analysis and sorting,from two aspects of the practice and theory of creation of Wen Tong status in the history of Chinese artWen Tong was interested in studying when he was young and good at writing poetry,painting and calligraphy.Then he became an officer.At the beginning of an official he has lofty ideals and high aspirations,so his art works is a great ambition to meritorious performance.In the middle and latter stage,due to the disastrous and complex political situation,Wen Tong chose to stay away from the complicated officialdom.He always focused on landscapes and paintings,all the sad was expressed in poems and paintings.During this period,he also met a lot of like-minded artists;they encouraged and influenced each other,so that Wen Tong's creative thinking has changed gradually.A successful artist,his talent for art and culture is inevitable in many aspects,Wen Tong is no exception.Su Shi thought that his accomplishments were as lush as the fruits of autumn.From this we can see that Wen Tong has a very high achievement in poetry,prose,calligraphy,painting all these aspects.Wen Tong's achievements in painting are also remarkable.He was good at Mozhu and dead wood and figure paintings;unfortunately,these paintings are not handed down.Bamboo painting creation as the most obvious artistic characteristics of Wen Tong,which includes not only the bamboo painting techniques of summarizing and inheriting of predecessors,also contains his own innovation.Previous paintings of bamboo are the pursuit of portrait,on this basis;Wen Tong also added a method of freehand ink,this unique method make painting of Mozhu's way into a new area.On the other hand,he also combines calligraphy and painting techniques,use the pen craft of strokes to draw bamboo leaves.This technique has become an important way of expression of literati painting.His bamboo painting techniques also influenced many artists at the same period and later generations.It can be seen that the Wen Tong plays an important role in Chinese art history.Another important role of Wen Tong in the history of Chinese painting is in the creative process of promoting the combination of poetry and painting.Due to the double identities of the writers and artists,he pioneered the method of combination of poetry and painting,put poetry into the painting in his practice of painting,at the same time both of them are interchangeable.In addition to the unique Mozhu painting,he also has his own achievements in art theory.He first presented the theory of "have a well-thought-out plan" in the letter which written to Su Shi,then Su Shi recorded and expressed in written form.Their communication of art also to a large extent affected the Su Shi's art theory.Not only in China,Wen Tong in Japan and South Korea is also a highly respected painter,but compared to South Korea for the excessive worship of Wen Tong,Japan the status evaluation more objective.
