Ban Haw Muslim community of Chiang Mai,started from Yunnan caravan leader Zheng Chonglin,the descendants of Zheng He,has been the oldest and largest Chinese Muslim community in northern whole Thailand as well as the Thailand, very representative of significance. Chinese Muslims is not only different from ordinary Chinese, but also distinguish with other Thai Muslims. The ethnic identity study of Chinese Muslims in Ban Haw community as a case with innovative value, through field surveys and literature data from population migration, language, religion, marriage and family systems perspective to explore how the Chinese Muslims of Chiang Mai construct their own ethnic identity on the background of religious and ethnic pluralism in Thailand, and views following:Chinese Muslims in Chiang Mai maintain their basic Chinese Muslim ethnic identity depends on a common historical memory, that is, the Muslims migrated to Southeast Asia, including multiple historic caravan trade history and the multiple migrations since the 19 th century due to historical changes caused by; Islamic religious identity, that is, Sunni Hanafi school of Islamic teachings based on the traditional Chinese culture to guide the individual Muslim code of conduct; unique community cultural diversity, makes unique self-awareness during the interaction among other ethnic Muslims and Chinese in Ban Haw Muslim community. Ethnic identity is reflected in the multiple changes of identity cognition from "Hui" to "Panthays ", then "Haw"; experienced many ethnic groups and migration so as to form a very unique history; "Thais" awareness enjoys popular support, the degree of assimilation into the relative to other Muslim ethnic groups is relatively high. Development Trend of Ethnic Identity of Chinese Muslims mainly in the new era: Yunnan cultural tradition connotation of deepening; Islamic religious self "transformation" and adaptation, and strengthen the sense of ethnic interior. Development of Chinese Muslim ethnic identity is important for Thai Chinese politics and the stabilization the relationship between China and Thailand.
