With the rapid development of global economy and the constant communication of cultures between different countries, there are more and more frequent and extensive cooperation between China and other countries of the world. As one of the primary communication channels, liaison interpreting becomes the bridge as well as the carrier of cultures which closely connects the speakers from different cultural backgrounds and from all walks of life together. Therefore, in the process of liaison interpreting, it is the basic function of liaison interpreters to realize the conversion between different languages and to ensure the accuracy and faithfulness of the interpretation. At the same time, they also perform other roles, such as the participants of dialogues, the coordinator of problems, the solver of conflicts and the transmitter of cultures. Therefore, a liaison interpreter is required to be provided with the comprehensive qualities and abilities if he wants to achieve high-quality of interpreting work.Based on two field liaison interpreting experiences, which the author had, at the International Workshop on the Theories and Practices of Green Growth and the Talent Show of "Huachang Idols" by Shenzhen Alliance Art Group, this practice report makes a comparison so as to analyze the existing similarities and differences between them, and then summarizes the corresponding strategies to cope with the problems and situations encountered in the process of interpreting. This report is divided into six parts:the first chapter gives the theoretical framework for the report. The second chapter introduces the background and research significance of the interpreting practice. The third chapter is about the preparation work before the interpreting. The fourth chapter makes analysis of the situations and problems encountered in the process of interpreting. The fifth chapter comes up with the feasible solutions by means of aiming at responsibilities and roles of a liaison interpreter and the self-assessment of the author's interpreting practice.
