Development Of The College Students' Vocational Interest Inventory For Henan Province

Objectives: The study is to establish Henan Province college students' vocational interest questionnaires,and on this basis, to explore the types and structure of vocational interest of college students in Henan Province and to analyze the relationship between students' vocational interest type of Henan Province and the Big Five personality traits.Methods: By reading the literature and analysis, bottom-up approach of college students in the preparation of professional interest pretest questionnaire, stratified random sample of 3,000 college students in Henan Province questionnaire, through data analysis to determine the formal questionnaire. We use Henan Province college students' vocational interest questionnaires, big Five Personality questionnaire Short version and SDS to survey 1200 Students in a university in Henan Province. We use spss21.0 and Amos17.0 statistical software for data processing and statistical analysis. Statistical methods are mainly used T test, Pearson product-moment correlation, analysis of variance, factor analysis, structural equation model.Results:(1)Exploratory factor analysis showed that there are 8 factors which contain a total of 62 questions in the questionnaire of vocational interest of Henan college students. 8 factors are social promotion, hand-made, artistic creation, personal service,mechanical operation,business management, basic service,data analysis and so on. Internal consistency of total quantity table Cronbach ? coefficient is 0.930,8 factors' ? coefficient is in 0.705-0.865. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the eight factor scale model fit well( ?2 /df=5.785, GFI=0.853, AGFI=0.840,PGFI=0.786, RMR=0.131, RMSEA=0.046). The criterion validity for the questionnaire and Hollander occupation interest scale was 0.504, significant correlation.(2)A comparative study on gender differences of the vocational interests in Henan province concluded that social promotion, Among the four dimensions of hand-made, artistic creation, personal service, basic service, the male scores were significantly lower than the female scores(p<0.05,p<0.01), but the mechanical operation and business management of the two dimensions of the male scores were significantly higher than the female scores(p<0.05,p<0.01).Comparing and studying the grade differences of vocational interest in Henan province concluded that, The difference of vocational interest among college students in Henan province is significant between grades(t =2.602,p<0.05), and in the dimensions of artistic creation, personal service, mechanical operation, business management, the difference is significant(p<0.01).(3) Correlation analysis of occupation interest and big five personality traits showed that neurotic is significant negative correlation with social promotion(r=-0.076,p<0.05), data analysis(r=-0.069,p<0.05), and is significant positive correlation with the basic service(p<0.01); responsibility is significant positive correlation with social promotion, hand-made, artistic creation, personal service, business management, basic service, data analysis(p<0.01); agreeableness is significant negative correlation with mechanical operation(r=-0.119,p<0.01), and is significant positive correlation with the other seven types of interest(p<0.05,p<0.01); openness is significant positive correlation with social promotion, hand-made, artistic creation, mechanical operation, business management, basic service, data analysis(p<0.01); extro-version is significant positive correlation with social promotion, personal services, business management, basic services, data analysis(p<0.01).Conclusions:(1)This study initially completed the preparation work of occupation interest questionnaires of college students in Henan province, the reliability and validity of the vocational interest questionnaires of college students in Henan province basically meets the requirements of psychological measurement,can be used as a measuring tool for vocational interest.(2)Henan college students prefer handmade, basic services, art and other types of vocational interests, men are more likely to choose machinery operation, enterprise management interest type, women prefer handmade, artistic, personal services, and basic services interest types. College students in vocational interest types behave differently in different grades.(3) Students of different personality types of different types of vocational interests, and Students' personality traits affect their career interests.
