| Purpose(1)To compile the three-dimensional vocational interest scale that is simpler, easier to promote, and more reasonable in structure;(2)to explore the dimensions and structure of vocational interests of college students;(3)to understand the scores of vocational interest among different groups and differences in vocational interest structure.Methods(1)Prepare initial questionnaire through analysis of existing materials, open questionnaires, and online vocational interest activities, collect data through online and offline, and use SPSS for exploratory factor analysis and project analysis.Exploratory factor analysis was used to extract appropriate factors to form a formal scale.Data were collected using a formal scale, and relevant data were analyzed for correlation analysis, internal consistency analysis, criterion validity analysis, and test-retest reliability analysis.Amos was used for confirmatory factor analysis;(2)Using SPSS for multi-dimensional scale analysis to determine the number of potential dimensions of vocational interest, using principal component analysis and correlation analysis to explore the meaning of potential dimensions;(3)Using multi-dimensional scale analysis to form a visual map of vocational interest structure, using the RANDALL program to verify the basic structure of vocational interest;(4)TDVIS and PGI-SC were used to measure vocational interest, and the difference of vocational interest scores between genders was tested. The RANDmf program was used to test the difference of interest structure between genders and subjects.Results(1)A three-dimensional vocational interest scale of 12 factors and 67 items was compiled through analysis. The correlation coefficient of each factor in the interest part is between 0.160 and 0.614,and the correlation coefficient of each factor in the ability part is between 0.071 and 0.783.The correlation between each factor and the total score is between 0.385 and 0.804.The analysis of variance shows that the scores of interest in different majors were significantly different(p<0.05);the interest rate of test-retest reliability at intervals of six months was between 0.467 and 0.780,and the ability was between 0.496 and 0.790;using confirmatory factor analysis for χ2/df,GFI,AGFI,SRMR,RMSEA,NFI,RFI are all in line with the index adaptation criteria;the internal consistency coefficient of the scale is between 0.63 and 0.96,and the reliability is high;(2)Multidimensional scale analysis extracts 3 dimensions,stress<0.01,which meets the extraction criteria;(3)Principal component analysis and correlation analysis showed that the first two dimensions were consistent with the Prediger’s bipolar model. The third dimension of vocational interest potential dimension meaning was inconsistent with prestige, and the corresponding interest type and personality trait were significantly correlated(p<0.05).After further analysis, name it pattern/change;(4)The visual graph generated by multi-dimensional scale analysis shows that the vocational interest structure is approximated as a sphere. The structure of the eight vocational interests is further verified by RANDALL.The results show that the potential structure is ring-shaped(p<0.01);(5)t-test results show that whether using TDVIS or PGI-SC,there are significant differences between the two sexes in different dimensions of vocational interest(p<0.05);RANDmf results show that the subject of law subjects in interest and ability the scores did not form a ring(p=0.055;p=0.100),and the scores of interest and ability of the other disciplines all formed a ring(p<0.05).There was a significant difference in the medical and physical structure of interest(p<0.05),and the difference between the literature and the physical structure of interest was also significant(p<0.05).Conclusion(1)The three-dimensional vocational interest scale consists of 12 factors and 67 items with good reliability and validity, which can be used as a tool for assessing and guiding vocational interest of college students;(2)The vocational interest of college students includes three potential dimensions. The first two dimensions are the same as the two-pole model proposed by Prediger, and the third dimension is the pattern/change dimension;(3)The vocational interest types included in the plane formed by the first two dimensions are in a ring structure, which is convenient for visualizing the results of career guidance;(4)There are differences in vocational interest scores between different genders and professions, similar to previous studies. The basic vocational interest structure of most groups is ring-shaped,and the vocational interest structure is relatively stable. |
