Study On The Meanings And Figures Of Auspiciouls Zodiac Goat

Auspicious goat has a close relationship with people's life and harmonious culture as an auspicious zodiac animal. Its meanings and figures are both auspicious and have great vitality in the inheritance of Chinese auspicious culture. This paper tries to categorize the meanings of auspicious goat into five aspects, i.e. custom image, homophonic symbolization, allusions, symbols, meaning of aggregations by tracing the source of goat character and its relative ones and culturally interpreting the meanings of auspicious zodiac goat. Then, the culture meaning, inner discipline and social functionality of auspicious goat's meanings and figures are systematically investigated starting from the meanings of auspicious goat to uncover the mutual relationship between the meanings and figures of auspicious goats. The culture of auspicious goat is diverse under the influence of origin, art, history and international cultures. Based on the above study, this paper reviews, inherits and activates the design of auspicious zodiac goat figures by presenting the representation and media of auspicious goat's meanings and figures. It is beneficial that people will understand the cultural meaning behind the figures of auspicious zodiac goat deeper and clearer, it will inspire the interaction of human and zodiac goat in the era of information and strengthen the transmission of auspicious goat culture. Moreover, the designers can design new auspicious zodiac goat figures at a higher mental level and take factors from various aspects into consideration. As a result, products based on the meaning of auspicious goat are able to satisfy the principle of the auspicious zodiac goat culture and modern design concept and enrich people's quality of living.
