The Art Of Light:L(?)szló Moholy-Nagy’s Pursuit And Influence

László Moholy-Nagy was a Hungarian versatile artist,photographer as well as a thinker,who made numerous practices and works in the realms of photography(photogram,black and white photography,color photography),light painting and films,however,all of these stem from his pursue for the art of light and his exploration for the possibilities to create art with light,and then build the essential relationships between these different realms,in other words,the relationship between light,space and time.On the other hand,no matter in Bauhaus or new Bauhaus in Chicago,his teaching works were closely related with light.In order to explore the influence and inspiration of Moholy-Nagy’s art on light for later generations,this paper will be write based on the art of light of Moholy-Nagy’s from three aspects: the realms involved in Moholy-Nagy’s works on light and their relationships,his teaching and exploration on light in Bauhaus and new Bauhaus in Chicago as well as his creations using light.
