In China, the primary and middle school students generally have great stress, the academic stress is the main source of stress. With the increase of grade, the amount of homework and exams are increasing sharply, which bring them great academic stress.The the rapid development of physical and mental, emotional instability, adverse external stimuli will have a greater impact on the health of the junior high school students in adolescence.In particular, the students’ academic stress in Grade 9 is much greater than that in Grade 7 and Grade 8. The psychological worker’s attention in school is needed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the academic stress characteristics of the students in Grade 9,and to intervene the students with high academic stress.This study consists of two parts. The first part is to investigate the academic stress level of the students in Grade 9 in a middle school of Nangchang County,according to the previous research literature, and then to analyze their academic stress characteristics. According to a three-stage model of Stress Inoculation Training and the academic stress characteristics of the students in Grade 9,the second part is to design a academic stress group counseling program.Thereafter, the researcher selected 24 students who have greater academic stress and divided them into experimental group and control group equally, 6 male participants and 6 female participants in each group.The study implements academic stress group counseling experimental group members, while the control group is not treated. Throughout the experiment, the researcher carried out the tests on the two groups,and recorded the prcocess of the group couseling of the experimental group members, and investigated the members’ participation until the end of group counseling, recovered the overall feedback form of the experimental group members. Finally, the researcher evaluated academic stress group counseling and draw the conclusion. The conclusions are as follows:(1)The academic stress of the students in Grade 9 is generally high,easpecially the task required stress, the stress of competition and the desired stress are significantly higher than medium stress level;(2)There is no significant difference in academic stress of the students in Grade9 on gender;(3)The intervention effect of the group couseling to the students’ academic stress in Grade 9 is remarkable, easpecially the experimental group members of the general academic stresss, the task requires stress, the competition stress, frustration,expectations are significantly lower than the control group(p<0.05);(4)According to the evaluation of the academic pressure group counseling, group members’ higher participation, better group cohesion, targeted and rigorous group counseling program are the reasons to intervene effectively. |
