Machine Translation Oriented Tibetan And English Syntactic Structure Comparison

Since the birth of machine translation technology in 1940s, it has received extensive attention of the world. Machine translation technology can reduce the workload of translator; therefore, machine translation technology has become one of the hottest topics in the study of information science. The machine translation research between Tibetan and other languages are started relatively late, began in the 90s. Early years mainly used rule based method; Qinghai Normal University Tibetan Information Research Center via the 863 project established a practical Sino-Tibetan machine translation system on the basis of rule based method. Due to the rise of statistical methods in recent years, Tibetan and Chinese machine translation trying to use the statistical method. Qinghai Normal University and Chinese Academy of Sciences Institution are cooperated to build a Sino-Tibetan (Tibetan) machine translation system. Also presented combination of rules and examples based machine translation system design model.Through the introduction of the development and present situation of machine translation, this paper deeply discusses the translation method based on rules. This paper expounds the concept and classification of function words in detail. According to the demand of machine translation, through the structure description, form of expression, examples to formalization the comparison of Tibetan and English sentence structure, so in further to improve the accuracy of machine translation. In the future research this theory may as the prototype, improving the rule description, expand the rules form library, optimize the structure of the sentence contrast, eventually make the theory applied to the real machine translation system. This article describes the structure form can also provide reliable information resources for future Tibetan and English machine translation relevant research.Tibetan function words classification is the key to the Tibetan lexical and syntactic processing technology. In this paper, by adopting the method based on rules to compare and analysis the Tibetan language syntax structure and English syntactic structure, found that Tibetan syntactic structure based on function words and English syntactic structure has certain corresponding relationship and logic. It can significantly improve the efficiency of Tibetan English machine translation.
