A Project Report On The C-E Translation Of Chambishi Copper Smelting Project(Excerpts)

With the rapid development of modern science and technology, the exchanges between different countries are also on the rise, generating much more demand for scientific and technological text translation. In May,2015, the author was entrusted by the Beijing Hanzhou Translation Company to undertake the translation project entitled "Preliminary Design for Project of Annual Disposal 50,000-ton High Cobalt Matte of Chambishi Copper Smelter Co., Ltd". The original text version is in Chinese and describes the basis and principles of compilation, transportation, drainage, electricity, heating ventilation air conditioning, civil engineering, environmental protection and energy security, health, financing and economic effects.The text nature belongs to the general technical translation, which involves professional background, knowledge and specialized vocabulary. The original text does not involve any deep theoretical analysis and reasoning calculus. In this report, the author introduces the translation project first, and then elaborates on some difficulties encountered during the whole translation process. Later, the author lists some solutions to those difficulties, including query, searching, use of translation tools, translation principles and strategies. Finally, the author makes a conclusion and lists some recommendations and limitations. The author hopes to improve translation skills and have more opportunities to do researches on the non-ferrous metal engineering translation work.
