This paper focuses on problem behaviors of elementary school students, their parenting patterns and the relationship between the two, in order to reduce problem behaviors and to perfect parenting patterns. Based on Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist and Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran, the paper made a survey in 210 elementary school students in middle and high grades, including 105 boys and 105 girls. The statistics analysis is conducted by SPSS18.0. Conclusions are as follows:1. Total positive percentage of problem behaviors reaches 7.14%.2. There is gender difference that the rate is higher in boys than in girls.3. There is grade difference that grade 5 gets the highest rate.4. For parenting style of fathers, students in grade 5 boast more warmth and understanding than those in grade 4 and grade 6. Students in grade 6 suffer more over-interference than those in grade 4. Students in grade 5 enjoy much more preference from their fathers than those in grade 6 and grade 4.5. For warmth and understanding from mother, students in grade 5 enjoy much more than those in grade 6 and grade 4. Students in grade 4 boast more preference from mother than those in grade 4.6. There is correlation between parenting patterns and problem behaviors. Negative correlation lies between father preference and schizoid boys and boy hyperactivity, hyperactivity of boys and aggressive girls. There is negative correlation between warmth from mother and schizoid boys. There is positive correlation between decline and deny from mother and schizoid girls and hyperactivity of girls. Severe punishment from mother negatively correlation hyperactivity, but positively correlates hyperactivity of girls. Negative correlation also rests in mother preference schizoid boys.This paper also proposed some advice, hoping to provide guidance in reducing problem behaviors and improving parenting patterns.
