Wang Fuzhi, the author of General Explanation on Elegies of Chu, is a Chu generation and the Chu culture influenced him subtly.The paper will analyze the differences between General Explanation on Elegies of Chu and other Chu monographs, from the aspects of Chu culture' Taoist thought, Chu customs and Chu literature spirit.Wang Fuzhi interpreted the Songs of Chu using the Taoist thought and showed some contents of Chu Taoist culture.It can be said to be a localization interpretation of Qu Yuan and Elegies of Chu.Wang Fuzhi had a rich interpretation of Chu customs in the Elegies of Chu, and his views that SHAO SI MING is the god which is in charge of children and XIANG JUN is the god of Xiang River and XIANG FUREN is the spouse of XIANG JUN have certain reference value. At the same time,Wang Fuzhi inherited Chu literature spirit with the understanding of Chu literary works.The book named General Explanation on Elegies of Chu expresses the persistent and strong life consciousness and the rich and warm subjective emotion, meanwhile it persists in paying equal attention to form and content.By adding or deleting the works of Elegies of Chu,critiquing the Cucizhangju and writing a work called Jiuzhao, Wang Fuzhi achieved the goal that revealed the ambition of Qu Yuan and carried forward the traditional spirit in Chu area as well as understood the inner feelings of Qu Yuan. What's more, General Explanation on Elegies of Chu tries to elucidate Qu Yuan' inner world, consequently shapes a mournful touching image of Qu Yuan which is the portraiture of the author Wang Fuzhi in the late Ming dynasty.
