IT Technical Guide Translation Under The Guidance Of Functionalist Translation Theory

With the rapid development of science and technology, the emerging technology, represented by information technology, not only plays a significant role in promoting economic development, but also has a profound effect on people‘s lifestyles. Under the background of globalization, China has been deepening the cooperation with countries all over the world in the development and innovation of information technology,which creates the need to translate IT technical guides. Therefore, to help IT technicians develop relevant devices and applications, the translation of English IT technical guides becomes increasingly significant.This report consists of five chapters,which is based on the real case from the IT translation project this author participated in. Under the guidance of functionalist translation theory, this report aims to discuss the problems in the process of translation and to put forward reasonable approaches and solutions through analyzing the unique and diverse vocabulary,sentence and textual function of IT technical guide,and hopes that this report can be used as a positive reference for those who are engaged in the translation of IT technical guides.
