A Narrative Study On The Development Of The College Innovative Experimental Class Students' Self-identity

The exploration and construction of self-identity, is the core task of college students' psychological development. The college students of innovative experimental class,as a representative of the college students, the development of their self-identity has important significance for their aspirations and future.Therefore, it is very necessary and meaningful to study the characteristics, process and speciality College Students' self-identity,adapting to the need of psychological development of college students.In this study, I used the narrative research method, with the depth interview of 29 college students in the innovative experimental class of H university,and finally come to the following conclusion:(1) Because of the different narrative themes, the main conflict areas, the solution,the identity group and the goal,four different types of students are presented : the students who focus on academic achievement(20%),The students who keen community activities(7%),the intermediate students(53%),the students who struggle in the edge in the experimental class(20%).Among them,the first type students are in a achievement state of self identity;the second type students are in a part achievement state of self-identity;the third type students are in a state moratorium of self-identity;the fourth type students are in a diffusion or foreclosure state of self-identity?(2) After stage 1-- differentiation based on self evaluation and group identity, stage2-differentiation based on execution and self-control, stage-3 stratification based on reflective selection, four types of college students was eventually separated, forming different self identity development results and career orientation.(3) Self evaluation, group identity, conflict resolution, and reflective ability are the key factors for the development of students' self-identity in the experimental class.(4) Emphasis on achievement, emphasis on professional education, academic performance appraisal is still experimental class mainstream environment,training content is too narrow, limiting the scope of college students to explore the possible range of achievement show;Lack of class identification, mutual help, insufficient help forself-development not instructive.Thus the experimental class did not make the most of the benefit of human development, and even to create a so-called “losers.”(5) College students' Identity development are greatly affected by individuals 'success and failure experience,even Gifted Students also difficult to get rid the influence of the school environment.To promote student talent requires the implementation of personalized training, strengthening academic guidance, to carry out targeted career guidance.
