The Research on the Application of Flower-and-bird Painting's Elements in Cizhou Kiln Decoration. Since ancient times, the art of the Cizhou Kiln is peculiar. Generations of nameless potters devoted their whole lives to the development of ceramic art. They have created a unique decoration style with strong black and white contrast. The decoration style has wide spread and deep influence. It has created a myth in the Chinese ceramic history even in the world ceramic history. As the Cizhou Kiln has unique artistic charm, it attracted many places to learn from it. At that time, Cizhou Kiln had become the largest folk kilns in the northern place. Many kilns with the same style spread all over Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Ningxia, Gansu, Northeast of China and other places. The style even had significant impact on the ceramic art of Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries. The combination of painting and ceramics has a long history, but Cizhou Kiln has taken the combination to an extreme. Cizhou Kiln has skillfully combined the the traditional Chinese painting and the ceramic decoration. Since ancient times, people are keen to apply flower-and-bird elements to implements decoration. People in the song dynasty were particularly good at reposing inner feeling in the flower-and-bird elements. The Chinese flower-and-bird painting also reached the peak during this period. In the folk, the Cizhou Kiln craftsman combined the Chinese flower-and-bird element with the ceramic production technology, and created the unique artistic style of the Cizhou Kiln. The perfect combination of the two art forms let the Cizhou kiln have an important status in the ceramic history.The objective and comprehensive study on the Cizhou Kiln started at the beginning of the 20 th century. Lots of the Cizhou Kiln relics were excavated in Julun, Hebei province in 1918. A large number of Chinese and foreign experts began to study on the Cizhou Kiln. As the turbulent social situation, in this period our country did not have many outstanding research results. The external flow of a large number of cultural relics caused great difficulties in the late stage study.The Chinese flower-and-bird element is indispensable part in the Cizhou Kiln decoration. This article had used the examples of proof method. Through the integration and classification of a series of the Cizhou Kiln relics and the combination with the key points of Chinese flower-and-bird painting, this article had shown the skill and the innovation of the Cizhou Kiln decoration, analyzed how the ancients combine the Chinese painting art with the ceramic art,summarized the law of the Cizhou kiln decorative beauty, then thought about how to inherit and develop the Cizhou kiln better.
