Jin dialect is different from Peking mandarin because of having entering tone, and the dialect of people who live in northern Henan province with entering tone characteristic belongs to Jin dialect of northern Henan province, which has formed in Ming Yongle reign at the beginning of fifteenth century. Since 1980 s, scholars have done numerous researches on entering tone, and mainly focused on the description of phonetics of the local dialect in traditional dialectology research methods, while there are few researches on the entering tone variation of Tangyin dialect. Entering tone includes both the finals and the tone of Ru tone, and it is varying as the rapid development and frequent association of our society, it disappears gradually or has transformed into other forms of phonemes. Thus, this thesis is going to make a survey on variation of entering tone finals in Tangyin county by the theory of language contact and language variation, psycholinguistics and experimental phonetics, then discuss the variation of entering finals in a tri-generation family, and finally find out the variation trend of all entering finals in Tangyin dialect. This study is of a little significance to make up for the inadequacy of Tangyin dialect research and enrich the content of the entering tone study of Jin dialect. This study firstly selects a tri-family who has lived in Tangyin Chengguan county for five generations as the object, by recording and dividing corpus, then analyzes the data and find out the variation of vowels. Besides, it analyzes the change of glottal stop ending [?] by observing the release burst of each sound map.By methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis, findings of present study are mainly as following aspects. First of all, there indeed exists variation of entering finals in Tangyin dialect: vowel[E?] moves to [??], [??] moves to [??], and [??] moves to [a]; one monophthong is diphthongized: [??] is changed as [ai]; some diphthongs are also changed, such as [i??] is varied as [ia], [u??] is varied from [uo?] to [u??], [y??] is varied to [y??]. At the same time, there is no glottal stop ending in the varied phonemes [?], [ai], [a] and [ia]. Secondly, the variation of entering rime is decreasing with the age generation increase. Besides, the variation of entering finals is more obvious for females than for males in gender. What's more, the proportion of variation is rising with the increase of education level.
