| With the acceleration of globalization and the changing international issues, the western culture penetration has been ubiquitous since the twenty-first century. On the Fourth Translation Climax, the Europeanization of Chinese in translation, for a host of reasons, is gaining momentum fiercely. Wang Li ever said that, "Generally speaking, the Englishization is Europeanization." Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the studies on Europeanization have been keeping welling up. Most of them, however, focus on theories through descriptive analysis. There are few analyses of translation practice, and fewer studies use quantitative methods. The study takes the Chinese translation of English news as research objects. All the texts are collected from the internship translation and analyzed by the standards of Europeanization of Chinese adopted by previous researchers in relevant studies through quantitative and qualitative methods. It quantifies the Europeanization of Chinese by using data and charts combining with illustrations of the examples from the corpus so as to discuss the Europeanization of Chinese in English news translation. The result shows that there are phenomena of abusing and partial misuse of the auxiliary word "de", the preposition "bei", the copular verb "shi" in mandarin as well as the numeral one+classifier structure, which result in the Europeanization of Chinese language. The study also finds that there is a specific tendency of simplification on passive markers and numeral one+classifier structure as well as high conformity between part copular verbs and their translation sources. Through the comparison and analysis, the study has concluded that the Europeanization of Chinese in English news translation is comparatively pervasive and part of the Europeanization is serious. Besides, there is coexistence of Europeanization of both language and thinking skills, the latter being more noteworthy. |
