In the late 19th century and early 20th century, David Starr Jordan was an American firm pacifist. As a famous American biologist, he proposed the theory that war destroyed human excellent genes and leaded to human racial degradation, and provided biological theories of pacifism. He advocated abandoning the way of thinking of the dispute settlement of the war, opposing the military invasion and expansion, and promoting the constructive peace. It prompted Jordan practice the theory of peace that America involvement in the war of the world. Jordan actively involved in peace-building activities in the whole life, from publishing peace books to deliver peace speech in the world, form establishing anti-war organizations to popularize universal education for peace, from preventing United States from World war I to calling for the establishment of international system and law against war. In the late 19th century and early 20th century, United States started to rise and expansion. In dealing with international affairs, American intellectuals that represented by Jordan expressed their opinions and suggestions for the destiny of the United States.
