With the growth of China?s overall national strength,the international status of China has been improved,and China also has been more engaged with other countries.International Publicity is not only particularly important to shape and promote the Chinese image in the international arena,but also vital for knowing and understanding China by other countries.International Publicity is inseparable from the translation for international publicity texts which is an important channel to facilitate the cultural communication and understand the Chinese political,economic and social developments as well as other aspects by the foreigners.Nowadays,with the increasingly prominent importance of translation for international publicity texts as well as the frequent and diversified activities of International Publicity,studies on translation strategies and skills for international publicity texts have become the subjects with both important theoretical and practical significance.This thesis chooses the text of Beautiful Shandong from Wild China as a case study subject.Shandong province has unique natural landscape,long history,splendid culture and colorful folk customs,which is the miniature of China.Therefore,English translation of the text of Beautiful Shandong from Wild China is representatively significant for promoting China to the world and helping other countries get to know the cultures of our country.Translation Aesthetics is the combination of aesthetics and translation studies.Zhu Guangqian proposed the term of “Translation Aesthetics” in the 1980 s,and claimed “translation doesn?t separate from aesthetics.” Currently,the theory of Translation Aesthetics is usually applied in literary translation,but there are fewer studies on the non-literary translation.In this thesis,the author attempts to make a deep study on the translation strategies for international publicity texts guiding by the theory of Translation Aesthetics.On one hand,it can not only accurately convey the information of the source text,but also publicize the beauty of Chinese language and culture so as to help the traditional culture go out and enhance the cultural soft power of China.On the other hand,it can provide wider scopes and perspectives to the theory of Translation Aesthetics in the application of non-literary translation and improve the width and depth of the study,which is conducive to developing the theory of Translation Aesthetics.This thesis mainly consists of six chapters.Chapter One is an introduction to the whole thesis,including the research background,research purpose and significance,as well as the organization of the thesis.Chapter Two is the review of the domestic and overseas studies on the theory of Translation Aesthetics and translation for international publicity texts,as well as the current studies on the translation for international publicity texts from the perspective of translation aesthetics.Chapter Three is the theoretical framework of this study,which gives a complete interpretation to translation aesthetics,including the connotations of aesthetic subject,aesthetic object as well as their relations,and aesthetic reproduction.Chapter Four focuses on the analysis of types,characteristics and translation principles of international publicity texts,and also introduces the text of Beautiful Shandong from Wild China briefly.Chapter Five puts emphasis on the application of Translation Aesthetics in the English translation of the text of Beautiful Shandong from Wild China.According to the source text analysis from the perspective of Translation Aesthetics,the beauties of the source text,including beauties of language,artistic conception and culture will be reproduced by a series of translation strategies,such as rhythmic translation,parallel translation,domestication,literal translation,simile translation,communicative translation,interpretation,literal translation with annotation,personified translation.Chapter Six makes a conclusion on the whole thesis,including the major findings,limitations as well as suggestions for future studies.
