This paper is a translation practical report from the work of the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida," Recall Ten Years ".This book,divided into three parts,introduces the changes and developments of the political and economic situation in Japan under the background of that time,including a series of reform measures and problems.It also involves many Japanese politicians who have important influences.The translator undertook chapter 23 and chapter 24,which mainly introduced the over-balanced twists process of the post-war budget and the reconciliation and re-independence between Japan and the countries during the Korean War.From Recall Ten Years,this work can be considered as a political text.The book has been published in Japan,while there is no Chinese publication version at present.It describes the domestic political and economic situation in Japan.If translated into Chinese successfully,the book can be reference for future study of the post-war history,which will help people understand Japan's main ideological and political tendencies,as well as the political ideas and views of important figure at that time.Before translating these two chapters,the translator has also carried out a lot of translation practice,with some experience and practical level.Through the translation practice and the verification of the translation theory,with a summary for the translation skills,the translator has got more experience in translating,which is helpful to future work.Having studied kinds of texts,the translator found most texts related to politics were translated between English and Chinese,without any on Chinese-Japanese versions.The translator hopes that this translation practice can be reference for summarizing up methods and principles of the translation of political texts for future study.Guided by the translation theory of Peter Newmark,a British translation theorist,and combined with the theory of semantic translation and communicative translation in practice,the paper is expected to be both accurate and faithful tothe original language style but also can show the subjectivity of the translator,so that readers can understand and accept the content and language of the translation,which achieves the effect desired.According to Newmark's classification of different texts,from the function and content of original language,the text belonging to the functional text,is the most typical political one,so the objectivity of translation will be the most important point.In the process of translation practice,the translator,on the one hand,under the guidance of semantic translation theory,concerns about and makes respect for the original text with selected vocabularies,truthfully,accurately and objectively translated the original text.On the other hand,the translator applies the theory of communicative translation,plays the subjective initiative,analyzes the active and passive voice of the original tone,and tries to provide the ideal translation for readers to understand and accept.Based on Newmark's theory,the translator combines the translation strategies such as literal translation,splitting and merging,and summarizes the translation strategies and main principles applicable to the Japanese translation of political texts and main the problems in the process of translation practice.
