The original text of this paper is sourced from Robot Monkey (Chapter One to Chapter Five) , written by the children's laureate, Zheng Yuanjie. The hero of the original text is called Little Hercules, a biochemical robot monkey who nearly sacrifices himself to save the earth and all of the innocent children living on it. The writer uses many colloquial Northern dialects, Chinese idioms and four-letter words, which are easy for readers to understand. In addition, the writer also uses many rhetorical devices, making the original more lively and vivid. As for sentences, the writer uses some easily understood sentences, which are relatively long but spoken and suitable for children.Domestication and Foreignization put forth by Lawrence, Venuti in the book The Translator' s Invisibility: A History of Translation and characteristics of children' s literature in the A New Course of Children ' s Literature written by Chen zidian are suggested as the general translation principles. Lawrence put that Domestication is better for readers to understand the translation, which can be more natural and coherent. Chen zidian thinks that children' s literature should be understandable and vivid. Based on the above translation principles, referring to the translation techniques on dialects, Chinese idioms and four-letter words, rhetorical devices and sentences, the translator summarizes the relevant translation skills after he analyzes the characteristics of the translation task. This report is mainly divided into three parts, including introduction, main body and conclusion. The first part offers a brief introduction to the writing characteristics and significance of the fairy tale. The second part consists of three chapters:Chapter One is task description, giving a brief introduction to the writer, the main contents, writing background and significance of translating the fairy tale.Chapter Two briefly illustrates the practice of the whole translation process, including preparation before the translation task, translation process and problems after finishing the translation.Chapter three makes a concrete analysis of translation cases. The last part mainly elaborates that the translator learns many related knowledge on the translation of children's literature, improving his translation proficiency and laying a good foundation. Meanwhile, the translator hopes that the strategies in this report can give some references to other translators.
