| This is a translation project report on the 8th Chapter of Translation in a Postcolonial Context-Early Irish Literature in English Translation written by Maria Tymoczko. The chapter mainly expounds, in order to translate the names in early Irish literature correctly, the endeavor of translators of different schools in the process of translating names into English.The report consists of four chapters. The first chapter is the brief description of the project, introducing its background, aims, significance and structure. The second chapter is the description of the source text, introducing its writer, the whole text and the trait analysis as well. The third chapter is concerned with translation difficulties, translation theory, translation strategies and methods, pointing out the difficulties in the translating process, and adoption of translation theories, translation strategies. The forth chapter is translation summary, summarizing the achievements and deficiencies of the translation practice, and the problems to be solved.From the perspective of translation practice and based on the analysis of the linguistic features of the source text, this paper focuses on the adoption of domestication and foreignization in the translation of texts of translating theories, and has achieves the goals. |
