A Study On Color Matching Of Lingnan Pottery Sculpture

Lingnan pottery sculpture has a long history.After thousands of years of tempering,it has become an important part of Chinese ceramics.Because the innovation of the Lingnan pottery artisans and their keen grasp of the market,it has been loved by collectors home and abroad for centuries.They get good results when they facing the problem of how to inherit and innovate.But there are still some limitations in its color matching and its features of thick sidewall and thick glaze layer have been retained so far.To analyze the color of “Shiwan Art Pottery”,which is one of the representatives of Lingnan pottery sculpture by using HSB mode,one could see that traditional“Shiwan Art Pottery” has a harmonious color feature which unfolds the warm color in accordance with the color of mud.By drawing lessons from the color matching of ceramic art in other typical areas in our country,summarizing the feature and development tendency of its color and comparing with the color of traditional Lingnan pottery sculpture,the method of Lingnan pottery sculpture's color matching can be enriched.Meanwhile,this paper sorts out the limitations of Lingnan pottery sculpture's color matching and combines with the science of modern color to seek for more innovative ways for the color matching of Lingnan pottery sculpture.This paper will take the color of Lingnan pottery sculpture as a starting point to study its color matching and will discuss how to develop and innovate by using colors.
