By using random sampling method, this study has selected 800 primary students from the second, fourth and sixth grade in three of the Shenyang primary schools and their parents as the object. The research was conducted through self-made questionnaire for both the students and their parents,in order to investigate primary students' attitude towards their parents' fertility of a second child and the parents' fertility desire,as well as the relationship between them. Results obtained through analysis are as the following:(1)This study adopts self-made questionnaire aiming at the investigation of primary students' attitude towards their parents' fertility of a second child. The questionnaire consists of three structures. Each is corresponding to the three factors involved in the students' attitude – mental preparation, emotional experience, and the behavioral expression. While examining the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, results showed that its Cronbach's alpha is 0.934.While performing confirmatory factor analysis of the questionnaire, results showed that the fitting degree of the model is fine.Consequently, the questionnaire has a high reliability and is suitable as a measuring tool while conducting researches about primary school students' attitude towards their parents' fertility of a second child.(2)The study results showed that: there exists sex and age differences issue in primary school students when it comes to their attitude towards their parents' fertility of a second child – unlike boys, girls are more willing to accept the birth of a second child. In addition, students from the second and fourth grade are more willing than those from the sixth grade. The father's occupational status and the family economic factors have significant impact on the attitude of the students.(3)By designing the ‘parents' fertility desire of a second child' questionnaire and measuring this desire, results showed that: only 15.6% of the primary school students' parents indicated a strong fertility desire of a second child,72.9% considered “having two children” as most ideal.Motivation of the parents' giving birth to a second child is mainly for the benefits of his growth and development,as well as fulfilling their wishes and reducing the growth risk of the ‘only child'.Parents' fertility desire of a second child is influenced by the gender of the child, fathers' education, mothers' occupations and family economic factors.(4)The study indicates that: there is a significant correlation between pupils' attitude towards their parents' fertility of a second child and the parents' fertility desire. This attitude has a high predictability for their parents' desire, and is expressed as a positive predictive effect.
