The Study On "?V/A?" Structure's Grammaticalization

"? V/A ?" is a fixed structure with high frequency in modem spoken Chinese.This article in the academic research on the basis of the results of the lexicalization and grammaticalization and other related theories,combined with the Peking University CCL corpus,explores and studies the structure of "? V/A ?" in modem Chinese.The thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter 1 briefly introduces the purpose and the meaning of this study,the object "? V/A? "? Also it summarizes the current research studies and makes a statement about research method and the source corpus.Chapter 2 mainly studies the description of synchronic level about"? V/A ?" in modem Chinese.According to the nature of the"? V/A?",this paper divides it into two categories:one is "? +V/A+ ? " structure.The other is the "? V/A?"structure.This paper argues that"? V/A ?"is different from"?+V/A+?" in terms of syntactic position,syntactic function,semantic meaning and high frequency usage,etc.It is because that there is a grammaticalization in the process of evolution about" ? V/A ? "structure and even some words have the trend of lexicalization.Therefore,this paper emphatically analyzes the grammaticalization process of "? V/A ?" structure,based on the high degree of grammaticalization,such as "???","???","???" and "???".Chapter 3 mainly discusses the grammaticalization process of'? V/A ?"st ructure.The grammaticalization"? V/A ?" begins from the co-occurrence of"?","V/A"?"?".Because of the"? V/A ?" at the end of the sentence,with the high-frequency usage,the semantic meaning of three components gradually bleach.In particular,the emergence of double predicate verbs in the sentence dir ectly weaken the central position of "? V/A ?".Then the semantic focus begins to move forward and the meaning of "? V/A ?"is gradually changed from th e"objective reality" to the "subjective evaluation:.At the same time,"? V/A?" ca n express a certain modality and mood with a small amount of subjective and mutual subjectivity.Due to the high frequency usage,and under the influence of"X ?","??/??��? X ?(?),(?)?? X ?",the semantic meaning of "? V/A ?"constantly bleach,then the the pronunciation is weak that even in the ab sence of mood can be omitted.At this point,"? V/A ?" completed the gramm aticalization.There are four main causes and mechanisms of the grammaticaliza tion:subjectivity and the interactive subjectivity,syntactic position,the semantic evolution and the context absorption,and the high frequency usage.Chapter 4 mainly discusses the lexicalization trend of "? V/A ?"structure.Based on the grammaticalization of "? V/A ?",it is found that some structures such as"JiuXingLe","JiuHaoLe" have been existing lexicalization trend,possessing some of the characteristics of modal particles.Through the study and analysis,this paper sums up the characteristics and rules of "? V/A ? ":firstly,the process of "? V/A ?"structural lexicalization are basically same,gone through the process from predicate structure to idiomatic structureto,to quasi-modal particle.Secondly,the lexicalization of "? V/A ?" belongs to the lexicalization of "cross-layer structure".Its lexicalization has three main reasons:the change of syntactic position;the context absorption and reanalysis;semantic bleaching.The last part is the conclusion which presents a final summary.Meanwhi le it points out the deficiency of this study and the problems that need to be further discussed.
