| In the 1980?s,the globalization drove the huge changes in global economy,politics and technology.Under the promotion of globalization,the localization became a flourishing industry.The industry of localization now gets more and more attention in China.Localization is the adaptation of a product or service to meet the needs of a particular language,culture or desired population’s "look-and-feel." In the 1990?s,the technology of Internet came forth,so the demands of software localization are gradually growing.Software localization became a major sector of the localization industry.Based on the practice,the thesis describes the development of localization,the differences between localized translation and traditional translation,and the main business units of localized translation.It also introduces the three stages of the localization process.And the thesis analyses the use of Computer Aided Translation,the file format accessing,query mechanism and quality assurance.Last but not least,the thesis focuses on the features of the software localization and the translation methods for user interface translation.The thesis may provide reference for management of localized projects and the translation. |
