The rapid development of economy and society has put forward higher requirements on both the translation volume and translation speed of translation industry. At the same time, the relentless march of computer science and technology also brings new life to machine translation and computer-assisted translation, thus a large number of machine translation systems and computer-aided translation software and platforms emerged. However, even the most powerful computer translation software still has its own limitations, especially when it comes to dealing with Chinese. Therefore it is necessary to adopt post-editing as remedies to deficient machine translation results so as to improve the accuracy of the translation.In order to let more people have more faith on the model of combining computer-aided translation with post-editing and thus practice it, this report begins with the presenting the entire developing process of machine translation, allowing readers to comprehend the scientific and professional part of it. Also the distinction between machine translation and computer-assisted translation has been clarified so that the reader shall understand that computer-aided translation is a more scientific and professional translation method developed on the basis of machine translation, and finally this article is about to specify the combined model via presenting personal translation practice to demonstrate the practicability of the model of combining computer-aided translation with post editing.
