Consecutive interpreting is the more basic type of interpretation.Meanwhile, English-Chinese Consectutive Interpreting (E-C CI) is an important part ofconsecutive interpreting which is time-efficient and instantaneous.Interpreters should complete the task of information understanding and information transfering in a short time. Therefore, for consecutive interpreting, note-takingcannot be ignored.This investigation report aims at researching the correlation between E-C CI cognition and interpreting quality.BasedontheEffortModel, this report can be included fivechapters:overview, survey progress, survey results and analyses, enlightenment on survey and conclusion.Survey results and analyses are the most important part of this investigation report, which incorporate the correlation between basic information of subjects and interpreting quality and thecorrelation between cognition of E-C CI note-taking and interpreting quality. The second part is main content that can be divided into six parts:ognitive survey of note-taking questions, the correlation between note-taking information controlling cognition and interpreting quality, the correlation between key information extracting cognition and interpreting quality, the correlation between cognition of note-taking signs and interpreting quality, the correlation between cognition of note-taking form and interpreting quality and the correlation between cognition of note-taking language choosing and interpreting quality. At last, the author makes review and outlook of this investigation report.Through this investigationreport, the author has major findings between E-C CI note-taking cognition and interpreting quality and the author hopes that some questions in this analyzing process of this investigationreport can bring more attention to our teachers and interpreting students, meanwhile, some teaching suggestions are helpful to further interpreting teaching class.
