Abstract/Summary:
Xu Wei, a famous painter of Ming dynasty, its unique skills in terms of freehand flower painting. Xu Wei’s freehand flower paintings, brush painting technique is full of pithy and unrestrained and even graceful and elegant, give a person with endless aesthetic enjoyment. Learning from predecessors’ essence, Xu Wei broke through the barriers of the following by following, reached an unprecedented height, prompt to development and prevalence of school of freehand brush painting, impressionistic painting of China has opened up a new field.Firstly, in this paper interprets his freehand flower paintings from a purely aesthetic perspective, and analyses their artistic features, known as his own peculiarities in ink, what needed to pay especial attention is the bold innovation in his painting poems and composition of a picture. Secondly, tries to analyze the reasons of the formation of the ink-wash composition by his freehand flower painting. And there are three levels of formation:the first is Xu Wei’s life experience; the second is due to the association with the other painters in the same period, especially the Shen Zhou and Chen Chun, and the styles of the Wu School had a different influence; the third is that Xu Wei applied Cursive Writing to his pictures. All sorts of reasons contributed to Xu Wei in freehand brushwork in tradition Chinese painting flowers innovation concept, freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting flowers in this creative contributions to the deep influence of the later artists.
