With the rapid development of the global economy, prominent economic problems are gradually emerging, which arouses economists and scholars, concern and extensive discussion. As a result,a large number of professional review articles have been published in the economic field. Those articles,as a kind of economic text, show increasing importance. The report, taking the economist Michael Pettis’s article Economic Consequences of Income Inequality as an example, attempts to explore the stylistic features of this type of text, and the effective strategies and methods adopted in the process of translation. It is shown that the frequency of the attributive clause seems very high in this type of text. The report, based on the examples and the analysis of the structural features and semantic features of attributive clause, taking Nida’s functional equivalence theory as a guide, discusses the strategies and methods used in the translation of the attributive clauses in economic texts, and summarizes the way how the attributive clauses in such texts are translated into Chinese in a faithful and fluent way,and how the functional equivalence is achieved by making the target readers share a similar understanding with the source readers in translation practice.
