This report is based on 10000 words technological translation practice of The Economist magazine targeted from English to Chinese.All the examples are selected from issue March 8th and April 4th 2015.The magazine is founded by James Wilson in1843,which most of its contents are humorous,and full of wisdom.The magazine also likes to delivers more meaningful contents in rather short pieces.Magazine mainly contains politics,business,art,technology and special columns.The examples mainly contain following contents:unmanned drones,bioengineering,computer science,earthquake predicting,gene infection and ocean probe.This translation report mainly contains description of translation task,process of translation,case analysis and practice report.The description of translation task contains background introduction,introduction of vocabulary and syntax features of the content.In specific case analysis,I introduce the vocabulary,voice and sentence structure features of science and technology English.During translation process,I roundly use translation theories and means to solve problems.By doing this,I draw some of methods to provide countermeasure for further translation practice.After finishing this translation report I draw a conclusion that is during specific case,by using flexible methods to translate texts is a rather good way to solve problems.By doing so,one can work out problems more easily than using only one isolated method.To sum up different methods according to word,sentence and text respectively,the guidance towards future translation work can be more useful.
