Translation Practice Report

In recent years,China's comprehensive strength in all aspects has been gradually enhanced.With the growing trend of internationalization,the cooperation between China and other countries is increasingly strengthened,especially in the field of science and technology,infrastructure construction and industrial engineering.So it is not surprising that there is a great demand for the translation of engineering scientific and technological texts.This translation practice report is based on the author's E-C translation practice of a technical agreement between a steel company and a foreign enterprise under the guidance of the skopos theory of German functionalism.The translation practice report mainly reviews,sorts out and reflects on this translation practice project.It mainly introduces the context of translation projects,reviews the whole process of translation practice,and does a case study to analyze the characteristics of the mechanical and technological English from the perspectives of text and language,illustrate various translation strategies and techniques adopted by the author under the guidance of skopos theory in this translation practice.And it also reflects the author's progress and weaknesses in translating this kind of text,hoping that future translators will gain some insights from it and produce better E-C translation of the mechanical and technological text.
