Nanning Yong opera is one of the local operas in Nanning,is a state-level intangible cultural heritage project,whose history can date back to the late Qing Dynasty with nearly two hundred years.At present,the development of the opera is still not optimistic,and even faces the possibility of extinction.Based on the background of "intangible cultural heritage" and the current local society of Nanning,this paper aims to find out the problems in the development of Yong opera,thus put forward the solutions.On the basis of the field investigation,this paper comprehensively employs the cultural identity theory,the identity theory as well as the literature analysis method,to tease the history of Nanning Yong opera,and demonstrate that the ups and downs of the opera is dominated by the influences of the Nanning local society on its cultural identity,to analyze the decisive role of self-identity in each life stage of Yong opera 's successor Hongqi on her individual life action line,and to explore the specific process,during which the Yong opera and its successor Hongqi accomplish their cultural identity and identity construction respectively under the circumstance of Nanning local society,thus,put forward the corresponding solutions in accordance with the problems that root in the process of identity,from the perspective of identity theory.The study finds that Nanning local society and the opera are in constant change,it is necessary to better promote the inheritance and development of the opera,should be placed in the current social context,through the recognition of social parties,clear the relationship between identity and inheritance,in order to find the development of Yong opera feasible way.
