Painting is the record of culture,and the development of the ethnic area art history trends to the national cultural study.The Mongolian art and culture in northern China,as a significant part of the Chinese national art and culture,has its important role in history.This study was based on the Mongolian portraits in ancient paintings and the Graphics theory,analyzed the existing problems of the northern ethnic paintings,and explored the particularity of that period of the Chinese national art history.We hope to contribute to the historic documentation of the northern national art and culture by studying the Mongolian art and culture with the combination of the modern painting theory.The Mongolians influenced the world history for two centuries with their unique culture,nomadic life and way of thinking.Numerous cultural and artistic works were produced during this period of time.In the fourteenth century,Mongolians extended their influences to the Arab region and even Europe as a representative of the prairie and nomadic culture.Although people have their different view about the impact of the Mongolians,but its impact is undeniable.This influence not only exists in the political and economic aspects,the political situation and economic capacity can lead the social development,and the ruler's ideology and way of thinking determines the social art orientation.This is reflected specifically in the painting.Mongolian portraits appeared in different space,different areas and even different countries,there are similarity and differences between them,and there are strong characteristics of the Mongolian portraits.
