In the teaching Chinese as a foreign language, classifier is often academically regarded as the key and difficult point and practically reported as the part of speech with more errors,in which the organ classifiers,as a subclass, are outstanding in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language for foreign students.Based on the learner's viewpoint, less attention in this subject and massive quantitative measurement with adequate qualitative analysis, this research tries to discuss the features and rules of acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers in undergraduate grade 3 Thai students of Chinese major with classroom questionnaire survey, interview and text description with data analysis. This research graphically gives careful reorganization, analysis and interpretation of data.Based on the collection from questionnaires,Thai students' acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers, their errors and causes in practice are presented to offer suggestions in teaching from the points of language cognition and differences. The major findings in this research can be seen as follow:Thai students' acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers is presented in 4 aspects.1.Thai students' acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers is inverse to lexical difficulty and is proportional to their Chinese proficiency, while verbal classifiers are better acquired than noun ones.2.In a relative better way Thai students acquire noun classifiers “?”with an accuracy of 86.57% and“?”with an accuracy of 66.42% while they fail in learning Chinese organ noun classifiers with an grand average accuracy of 48.66%.3.Thai students best acquire verbal classifier “?” with an accuracy of 95.52% and “?”in opposite with an accuracy of 19.40% while they do better in learning Chinese verbal noun classifiers with an grand average accuracy of 60.30%.4.Misformation,misordering and others can be seen as the error types in Thai students' acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers while misformation tops the list with an grand average accuracy of 29.98%.Interlanguage and intralanguage interference, teaching syllabus and textbook compiling, classroom teaching and learner himself cause the errors in Thai students' acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers.4 suggestions of teaching common Chinese organ classifiers for Thai students are proposed.1.To further the practical study in cognition of common Chinese organ classifiers.2.To improve the teaching design and content arrangement in syllabus and textbook for better classroom interpretation.3.To encourage contrasting and construction grammar for more effective teaching methods.4.To encourage effective learning strategies for Thai students' acquisition of common Chinese organ classifiers.
