A Repolrt On The Translation Of Four Medical Papers On Cardiovascular Diseases

The report is written on the basis of a translation project of four medical papers from English to Chinese.These four papers,published on four different English medical journals,give a detailed description of some clinical experiments as well as the findings to their readers.This thesis analyzes the features of these four medical papers at the lexical and syntactic level respectively,and further clarifies some practical translation methods,including literal translation,amplification,transposition and syntactic restructuring.It is written in accordance with the author's actual translating procedures,consisting of six chapters.The author tries to illustrate the whole translation process from three major parts:before-translation,while-translation and after-translation.Before the translation project was started,a lot of preparations had been made from the perspective of professional knowledge and assistant tools.In the translation process,the features of these papers at lexical and syntactic level were analyzed linguistically,and then the guiding theory,dynamic equivalence,was finally determined.After that,the translation was done sentence by sentence under the guidance of this specific theory.After the translation was finished,the translator proofread all the Chinese version papers to check if there is any error or something improper.Lastly,the author listed some self-reflections in this report according to the feedback from the client with a tendency to offer some guidance to other medical English translators.
