The Achievements And Shortcomings Of "Zhuang Zi"'s Collation In Ancient China

"Zhuangzi" is one of the most important books in the pre-Qin books.It has a very high ideological nature and literariness,much-favored by later researchers.This work is not written by Zhuangzi himself independently.There are many other constituents in the later,so this book in the literature can be verified to two texts.whether the ancient text was the true colour of "Zhuangzi",it needs further confirmation.Also,since it was done,"Zhuangzi" had been repeatedly copyed and published.more version appeared.This caused multiple texts of "Zhuangzi",so that there was a lot of uncertainty in the texts of "Zhuangzi"seen in the later.There were many different places between different texts.These different texts decided the need of "Zhuangzi"'s collation.Since the Wei dynasty and the Jin dynasty began,some scholars had continued to conduct the collation of Zhuangzi" in the ancient.The collation showed different characteristics because of different times.Through the analysis of these proofs,this article presents the overall achievements of ancient"Zhuangzi"'s collation,and highlights the limitations and shortcomings,which provides the objective and multi-angle perspective.In the concrete research methods,This paper mainly adopts the horizontal and vertical lines.First of all,in terms of contents,this paper takes the time order.According to the characteristics in different times,"Zhuangzi"'s collation in ancient China was divided into three stages.So we can see the results,methods and different characteristics of "Zhuangzi"'s collation in different times.Secondly,in the concrete analysis of each stage,the paper analyzes the tendency of different scholars in the same period.Combining two clues,the whole picture is presented in ancient China.The material and the analysis data used in the paper are from different scholars' works of different ages.By analyzing these works,we can find that "Zhuangzi"'s collation in different times has both achievements and shortcomings.From the Wei and jin dynasty to the Sui and Tang dynasty era,it was the writing time,which was closest to the age of "zhuangzi"'s completion,so the most abundant information were recorded,and the results of the collation were the most.But most of the collation was only recorded different contents,not further analysis.Moreover,the method was based on the comparison of the texts,and the contents of other books were supplementary.The method by the text itself was not deep.And there was not detailed on the source of the tests.Although the study of "Zhuangzi"from the Song to Ming dynasty had some achievements,they were built on the basis of the false.In the absence of reliable proofs,the situation of the collation was relatively chaotic.The method in this period was mainly based on the comparison of the texts.Because of the lack of good texts,the overall achievements were small.The Qing dynasty was the farthest from the earliest texts of "Zhuangzi",so scholars couldn't see ancient texts.The whole environment was relatively bad after the false from the Song to Ming dynasty.But in this period,academic atmosphere was more rigorous,and collating attitude was correct.Besides,the selection of the texts was relatively cautious,and the methods were comprehensive,so the results of collation were obvious.In the Qing dynasty,there were some works that corrected mistakes such as "Zhuangzi Zazhi" and "Zhuangzi Pingyi".In the late Qing dynasty,there was the text such as "Zhuangzi Jishi," covering the achievements of the previous and the current scholars.And the new concise format was discovered.The scholars in the Qing dynasty made great contributions in summarizing the results of the collation and promoting the mature of "Zhuangzi"'s collation,but there were also inadequate methods and unreliable results.Different times had different characteristics.In the same age,although the general characteristics were similar,there were some differences in the specific methods and results.Through the comparative analysis of multiple angles and cross-sections,this paper reproduces the general situation of"Zhuang zi"'s collation in ancient China.By distinguishing the achievements and shortcomings in different times,we can find the clues of the text of "Zhuang zi",so we can be more close to the true nature of the text of "Zhuang zi".
