With the relationship becoming closer between China and Madagascar recently,the needs of Chinese learner is becoming larger.As one of the non-emotional factors,learning motivation has been extensively studied by researchers.This paper focuses on the research of Chinese learning motivation among Madagascans.Through the investigation,the article analyzes the factors that affect the motivations of Madagascar learners and gives some suggestions on stimulating the motivations.On the basis of second language acquisition theories and researches both in China and abroad,combining author's teaching practice experience in Confucius Institute in Madagascar.The author has designed a questionnaire and conducted an investigation of 162 Chinese learners.By collecting and analyzing the data,the article summarizes 3 factors that affect the motivations of Chinese learning,namely,the learners,social and learning surroundings and teachers.Then analyzes the influence of these factors,which gain the five types of motivation,such as intrinsic motivation ? extrinsic motivation ?achievement motivation?learning situation motivation?cultural integration motivation.From the results of survey,most of the Madagascan learners have a much clearer awareness of their motivations.Finally,this paper gives eight suggestions on how to stimulate learning motivations of Madagascan learners from the society and learning environment ?teachers' angle...
