Uighur-type Mongolian originates from Mongolian before 16 th century and then develops to the modern Mongolian.Hence,Uighur-type Mongolian scripts are significant for the study on Mediaeval Mongolian.Now more than 200 Uighur-type Mongolian scripts have been found.Uighur-type Mongolian scripts which are the precious heritage of national historical culture not only presents the historical cultural development of Mongol and but also records its close relationships with other nations on the respects of politics,economy and historical culture.Hence,Uighur-type Mongolian scripts have significant academic value on the study of historical culture of Mongol,the development of Mongolian and the study on Mongolian phonetics,morphology,and vocabulary.Previous studies on Mongolian vocabulary focus more on the Interpretation of the words and loanwords and there are few systematical studies on the vocabulary of Uighur-type Mongolian.This thesis attempts to study Uighur-type Mongolian's vocabulary,its components and its evolving characteristics.And this thesis divides the vocabulary of Uighur-type Mongolian scripts into three chapters according to the systematical study: intrinsic words,loanwords and compounds.The first chapter includes nouns,adjectives,pronouns,numerals,verbs,time words and function words.The second chapter includes Chinese loanwords,Sanskrit Tibetan loanwords and Uighur,Turkic,Persian loanwords.The third chapter includes compound nouns,compound adjectives and compound verbs.
