| "Japan’s medical system and policy" is a set of knowledge of social science, which illustrate a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the structure of the medical system in Japan’s each period.Through comparison with Europe and the United States and other countries,IT reveals the negative sides of Japanese medical system, and provides suggestions and prospects for the future reform of medical care in Japan. The author is involved in the translation work of the 10th chapter of the book(translation version has been published in November 2016 by Nanjing University Press). This report is summary and reflection of the work that the author take part in,hoping provide a reference for the future translation work on social and science. In the whole translation process, the author first analyzes and classifies the translation works, and classify the text into functional tex according to the text analysis method of Peter Newmark,a western translator.Second,in "translation of the problem of inquiry," Newmark points out that a book proposed of different text types should be translated with different methods and criteria. From the view of text type, expression text usually be treated by semantics translation method. On the other hand,Newmark also believes that the use of semantic translation and communicative translation is not absolute, the two can be used at same time.In a same translation work, some parts are translated in semantic methods, and some parts are treated in communicative method. The two complement to each other. Therefore, during the translation of" Japan’s medical system and policy,",the author adopted a semantic translation-oriented method, appropriate to supplement the translation with communicative methods. In terms of specific translation techniques and strategies, this report, based on the theory and perspectives of the relevant specialists in translation, enumerates a detailed analysis of the word meaning conversion and lexical conversion. In word meaning conversion,.As the Sino-Japanese culture are quite different, they has their own way to express the same object. Thus translator should not either break the writer’s original intention,or violate the sense. Therefore, with fixed concept and unfamiliar vocabulary appearing in the text, the two methods of word meaning derivation and word meaning concretation are particularly important. In the lexical conversion, the author mainly lists three translation methods which are the most common in the process of translation.Translate noun to verb, adjective to verb and passive form.In translation, there are often long sentences that consists of many nouns or adjectives. When dealing with such long sentences,if one translate individual nouns or adjectives into verbs, the translations will become concise and easy to understand.Of course, there are often a number of consecutive sentences of passive form in Japanese. In the translation of such sentences,if all of them translated according to the order of original sentence, there will be a serious translationese, which is vapid and difficult to understand. This problems will solved by using active form and passive form. This report,by taking advantage of text type classification and semantic translation theory proposed by Peter Newmark, grasps the basic direction of this translation. For the specific problems in translation, this article also combined with Fan Yongqian,Wang Zongjie and other translators of the theory and perspective of the analysis and demonstration. All these are done to find the most reasonable strategy to solve the translation of the problems,so that words are accurate, and language is easy to understand. |
