WuGong County Sacrifice To SuWu In Qingming Festival With Ritual View Of Communication

As the tomb place of Su Wu and the origin town of family Su,public memorial ceremony to Su Wu has been held annually since the end of 20th century.Public memorial ceremony to Su Wu is selected as research target according to Ritual View of Communication proposed by James Karry.Field investigation,interview to major organizers and analysis of special report and text are the main research methods of this dissertation.The memorial is comprehended in communication view,so that the emergence,development and variation of the memorial is explained.Ritual expression of the memorial is explored to imply the symbolic meaning and its political,economical change.This dissertation consists of the following four parts:First,the development of memorial is analyzed in view of communication by the order of time;Second,the ritual expression of the memorial is presented in the view of communicative rituality.Third,public memorial ceremony is restored as ritual performance to study the meaning of ritual arrangement,text and symbols.Fourth,summarize the dissertation.This dissertation implies that the global memorial ceremony for all Chinese named after Su to remember SuWu on Qingming festival is not just the act of seeking roots,but also the opportunity of advertisement,investment attraction and economical development for local government.
