With the rapid development of engineering construction in China, the number of students majoring in engineering has markedly increased and they will be the main body of future construction projects, who will decide whether future projects can benefit humankind or not.To carry out ethical practice in engineering is critical for ensuring public trust in the field and in its practitioners, especially as engineers increasingly tackle international and socially complex problems that combine technical and ethical challenges. With regard to engineering ethics education, engineering ethics is still an emerging discipline in China.Construction discipline, professional research institutions, professional research teams and the establishment of a curriculum and teaching system need to be improved. Moreover,China's higher education system does not attach enough importance to ethics education, and college students in science and engineering require greater awareness of engineering ethics. The source text is chosen from the book Infusing Ethics into the Development of Engineers:Exemplary Education Activities and Programs, page three to page twenty-five.The book selected by the translator was published by National Academies Press in March 2016,which mainly introduced a number of education activities in engineering ethics and provided more program examples. This is a translation report on translation practice and consists of four parts, among which Chapter Two,Three are the main parts.Chapter One is the introduction to the translation project, including background, purpose and significance.Chapter Two states the translation process. The translator gave a detailed analysis of the source text and its linguistic features, through which she found that Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory can be adopted as theoretical basis.Chapter Three mainly explores the difficulty in translation practice.Chapter Four summarizes specific translation methods.Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence, five frequently-used translation methods are elaborated, including conversion, transformation, amplification, recasting and cutting. In Chapter Five a conclusion is drawn about the report. This report indicates that translators should initially analyze the text type and language features of the original text. Then they should adopt feasible translation methods under the guidance of translation theory so that the translation can be delivered more idiomatically.
