As one of today's mainstream languages,English plays an important role in the progress of the Globalization.However,few people know about the development and evolution of Australian Aboriginal English.As a legitimate variety of the English language,Australian Aboriginal English has been greatly influenced by the Australian Aboriginal history and its colonial history,thus,Australian Aboriginal English reflects the cultural connotation of the region and the long history of Aboriginal development,the unique worldviews and cognition of society and nature.Therefore,in order to make more English readers understand Australian Aboriginal English,this report takes "Ways of Being,Ways of Talk" as the translation text.Through the translation of the Australian Aboriginal English in the text,from the perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory,analyzes the translation difficulties and solutions of textual cohesive in the process of the translation practice.The analysis of the Aboriginal English in the text reveals that Aboriginal English has different textual cohesive devices in terms of vocabulary and sentence patterns compared with that of standard English,which cause the problem of translation.There are three translation problems on the vocabulary level,the first being that the frequent use of same words in one sentence causes the translation problem of textual cohesion;the second being that the frequent use of unique Australian Aboriginal words in the sentence causes the translation problem of textual cohesion;the third being that the omission of grammar vocabulary causes the translation problem of textual cohesion.There are three translation problems on the level of the sentence pattern,the first being that the frequent use of no subject sentences causes the translation problem of textual cohesion;the second being that the non-standard English word order in the sentence causes the translation problemof textual cohesion;the third being that the using of inconsistent tenses in the sentence causes the translation problems of textual cohesion.In order to solve these translation problems on the vocabulary level,the author takes the translation method of omitted words,making footnotes and the translation method of adding words.In order to solve translation problems on the sentence pattern,the author takes the translation method of the manifestation implicit subject,changes the order of sentences and equivalent translation method.The author hopes that the discussion of these two problems will provide some reference for other translators who are interested in Australian Aboriginal English.
