The Boundary Transition Of Horqin Right Wing Three Banners In Qing Dynasty

There were three Horqin Right Wing jasag banners,that is to say,Horchin Right wing middle banner,Horqin Right Wing front banner,and Horqin Right Wing rear banner,in Jirim league during the Qing dynasty.This paper deals with the evolution of natural entity names,such as the boundary of pastureland,the change of political area,mountains,and rivers and so forth,based on the historical geographic documents,related maps,and fieldwork study.This research topic is the significant content of Mongolian historical study of the Qing dynasty.Moreover,this period of history represents the crucial phase of social and historical development of Mongolian banner.It is very important for the study of Inner Mongolian historical and geographic change and the study of historical geography of Chinese frontier region to do research on the banner boundaries of these three banners.The whole paper includes five parts-introduction,main body,conclusion,references and appendix.In the introduction,I will talk about the significance of the subject,basic historical documents,research situation and innovation of the paper.The main body of this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the origin of Horqin and the historical line of their last surrender to the Qing dynasty.Furthermore,through the comparison of historical documents and maps,this chapter also makes an analysis on the 4-8 boundaries of three banners of Horqin West Wing three banners that is before setting the county government.Chapter two expounds not only the process of the Qing dynasty’s cultivation in the Horqin Right Wing three banners,the prefectures,and the counties,but also the establishment of prefecture and its boundaries during the implementation of New Policy.The third chapter discusses the contraction of pastoral land and the coexistence of county and banner because of the official cultivation of the Qing dynasty firstly.Secondly,I will examine the important reference,"The delimitation map of nen ten banner of Jirim league ",its drawing time and the place names on it.In addition,this chapter verifies the evolution of geographical names and the geographical position of some ancient and modern mountains and rivers within the territory of the three banners.
